#4 Kids & their stick 'puppets'

When we think of stick puppets we think of a stick with picture of a cartoon character, but for my Year 1 class, I stick pictures of parts of body of their choice. The kids were so excited they get to color the parts of body. (Budak mane tak suke kaler kann?) I drew the pictures and got it photocopied, so the kids just need to color it. It will time if I were to ask the kids to draw. I wanted the kids to cut the pictures themselves but unfortunately I couldn't find scissors from the art department. So I end up cutting the pictures for all the kids... Perghhh, what a mess. Class control memang down the drain laaa... I was cutting a picture when one kids flash his paper ON my face, i had another kid on the left showing his paper, another on the right pressing me to cut his picture and i had another at the back, climbing on my chair... Can you imagine? Disaster...! Imagine I had to entertain all the kids... Penat...  

But the end result was all that matter. The kids enjoyed the activities and they were happy... When kids happy, teacher pun happy...

Do not be fooled by their cuteness. They are monster in disguise. Kadang2 rs cam nak makan sorang2. ~~Heee, kadang2 je...

This little boy have learning disability, but he showed great interest in this activity (^_^)

Kids #3 Picture Dictionary

Remember when were young, we have a book with lots of pictures in it. And you'll have the name both in English & Bahasa Malaysia. I remember I had one and I LOVE it!!  

Today I let my kids take a look at a picture dictionary we have in our library. The kids go....

Kids: Ndeh... Adeh...!!

And they repeat this many times!!

They were so absorb in the activity that they didn't realise there was a camera

What are they saying? 

Ndeh --- Yang ni, 

Adeh! --- Ni dia..!

They tried to spot the things in small picture in the big picture... It's something that I did when I was young too... It really reminds me of myself... Heheheh!! 

Kids #2 Tangan Api & Air

With My Year 1 kids, we learn about parts of body (yes...i'm going very2 slow with the syllabus thanks to my softball trainings ^_^ Sorry kids, but at least you learn quickly on the way to ask permission when you need to use the toilet in English kan? although you don't know how to speak English. You also learn that you should wash your hands after using the toilet, kan? Teacher BB yg ajar kan? *Proud moment jap, heee...*)

Anyway, the kids were doing exercise in the activity book and then it's coloring time...!! Yeaahhhh!! yeeeeaahh...!! yeeeaaahhh!! (dats how the kids will exclaimed when they're excited)

One boy coloured the hand red. Me shocked laa..

Teacher: Fuiyyyoooo....tangan die warna merah!! (in attempt to critized the child's work. jahat kan teacher. hihihi... ;P)

Boy : ~gave his cutest smile~

Teacher : Tangan die merah, boleh kluar api ye?

Boy : Ha'ah... Api kluar kat tangan dia, cikgu...

Teacher : (dalam hati - budak ni stuju pulak idea aku eheh..) Lagi sebelah keluar ape? Air?

Boy : Ha'ah

Teacher : (Good job teacher for suggesting such a ridiculous idea.. -_- huh, ikut je laaa...) Air warna apa pulak?

Boy : Biru... Cikgu, tangan die keluar air...

And then, there you have it. One hand red and the other blue. All thanks to my wonderful ridiculous idea.. Huhuhu... 

Kids #1 = Kahwin...

Rasa2 cam nak wat tag baru... KIDS. Since I'm a school teacher, I have lots of funny conversations with my kids... They're like...ummm... innocent? hehehe... Just wanna share a piece of my experience... Here's 1..

(All of the conversation are in Malay coz they are Orang Asli kids & they have difficulty speaking in English...)

A male teacher got married recently. He was the ex-class teacher of my year 4 students. He took care of them since Year 1 but then he got transferred when they were Year 3. They really miss him...

Teacher (that would be me =) : Cikgu Akmal nak kawin. Nah ni kad kawin die...

Student : Yokkkyokkk.... Saya tak mau die kawin..

Teacher : Eh...habis, macam mane pulak? Nanti macam mana *kerdor die?

Student : Yokkkyokkk... Saya nak dia duduk sorang-sorang

Teacher : Kalau cikgu kawin, awak bagi tak?

Student : Cikgu tak boleh kawin...

Teacher : (dalam hati.. Erk, habis laaa....) 

*kerdor = perempuan, isteri

My little angels....

Tajuk ni da tersimpan lama dlm draft... terlupa da...

This is a story about my little angels... my lovely year 6 librarians in 2011... One of them passed her UPSR and I was thrilled about it!! Two of them got good results too.. and another angel of mine performed not so bad... What ever result they got, I'm really proud of them.

Whenever I need for them to do something for me at the library, they were always willing to help. I'm so gonna miss them when they go for their secondary school... T_T
